Glamour is a term we hear often.
It’s plastered across magazine covers, whispered in the background of perfume ads, and used to describe a team of beauty professionals who help prep for red carpets.
Although used often, I feel that the term is very misunderstood.

Glamour is defined as “an attractive or exciting quality that makes certain people or things seem appealing.”
And while that definition is supposed to explain the word, it leaves a huge part out.
What is that quality?
It’s not beauty. It’s not wealth. It’s not perfection.

Glamour is an energy.
It’s the unspoken confidence of someone who’s sure of themselves, and the aura that radiates off of them because of it.
You can feel the presence of a glamorous person from across the room.
You know that feeling. You’re in a packed room and catch a glimpse of someone you don't know, but for some reason, you’re instantly drawn in. You’re also pretty sure that everyone else in that room is too.
You may like how this person looks, or what they’re wearing, but it’s not even that. It’s their whole… thing.

You start to feel a bit creepy because you can't stop looking in their direction.
It’s because you can’t quite put your finger on what you’re attracted to.
In some cases, you can take a quick look at someone’s outfit (maybe compliment them), make a mental note for inspo, and move on.
But in this case, you feel like it’s not the clothes. It’s something more.
What is this thing about them?
How can their presence say everything?

Presence is what’s within, finding its way out.
It’s what people feel before you even say a word.
It’s the part of you no one can take, copy, or buy.
That’s why glamour can’t be bought either.
Glamour isn’t about creating an image.
It’s about owning what’s already yours.
When you know who you are, everything you touch starts to shine.
So, how can someone become glamorous?

You don’t need diamonds or a picture perfect life.
You just need to show up as yourself, even if you’re still figuring out who that is.
Dress in what makes you feel like you, not what makes you blend in.
Stay loyal to what feels right, even when it sets you apart.
Carry yourself with kindness. It’s what turns "beautiful" into "unforgettable".
Authenticity is luxury, and the most glamorous thing you can be is real.
Glamour never came from diamonds or cameras.
It’s the light that’s always been within you, patiently waiting for its moment to shine.
