The Fortune
I just had the bestttt spicy tuna roll.
I was so hungry and tired from the gym, but I was in fresh pjs and had been hanging with my cousin, holding off my hunger. When I got home, I ordered for my mom and I, and it came so fast.
The sushi was the best I’ve had. I didn’t even need soy sauce. The tuna was refreshing with a smidgen of crunch, and the rice and seaweed blended so well. Everything felt salty yet sweet. It was so good, wow.
The beef and broccoli, however, was not something I could find a way to eat. I tried it anyway, then gave up and put it in the fridge.
After a bite of grilled chicken and calling myself done, I made some tea and headed toward the stairs.
I had the courage, the courage. To. Not. Sweet. Treat.
But then my mom said, “Open up your fortune cookie,” so I did.
“Create your own definition of success; it’s personal.”
That was my fortune.
So now, I’m going to analyze that fortune for the next few days, trying to figure out what that even means.
