Growing Pains
I’m a better person after coffee, I really am.
Before this large cup of iced bitterness, I was looking around at my seemingly perfect day wondering why I’m just not that happy.
Halfway through my cup, I’m feeling the sun on my skin, the wind in my hair, and the high vibrations of pedestrians on walks beside me.
What will I be like when this cup is empty? Skipping through the streets, falling in love with strangers? Maybe…
After lunch I went to the gym. Today was single leg day (the hardest day in my opinion), but it wasn’t so bad.
This week in the mail I received a self-guided journal that I asked my brother to buy me for my birthday. What? I’m the youngest sibling, I can do that. Anyways, I love my journal.
At the top of every new day is an affirmation. Here is today’s: I am at peace with where I am, yet open to where I am going.
I love that, and I really do think it was the theme of my day. I’ve been experiencing what I today deemed, growing pains. The pain you experience during growth. For months I’ve been pushing through my discomfort of change and the sadness that comes with it. It’s good, it’s great, but neither easy nor happy. Yet, I’m doing it for my future and to come out more fulfilled. Long term fulfilled.
Something I realized while writing today was that I love to give love. Maybe I just have so much love built up I’m overflooded. I give a lot of love to myself on a daily basis, and that’s why I live the way I do, making myself a priority in all the ways I can.
Maybe though I’m just like damn. I’d like to give some of this love away. In that, I’ve realized I need to do some volunteer work. Maybe at an animal shelter. I like dogs MUCH more than people. For sanity purposes, I need to give my love to them.
