Goodbye for Now
In T-minus four days I will no longer be twenty-two.
Twenty-two had a good run, it really did, but man I’m excited for this leaf to turn.
Twenty-two will most likely be a year I remember forever. For starters, it’s the year I started GirlHazard.com.
Throughout the year, I experienced all the ebbs and flows that a girl in her twenties may go through.
The clothing brand I started failed,
I turned my passion into something new,
I went through friendship breakups,
I tried out new hobbies.
I was bored and didn’t know what excited me,
I took fun trips and made new memories,
I had a boyfriend breakup,
I found new ways to learn.
I had my good days, I had my bad days.
Evidently, I came out stronger.
I took the things and turned them into lessons that I could grow from. I slowly worked my way closer and closer to a more aligned me.
I know more things that I like and more things that I don’t.
I do things that I never thought I could enjoy, like going to the gym and reading and writing. I step out of my comfort zone in ways I know are good for me. Like trying something for the first time and being bad at it, singing on stage and leaving proud even if my voice cracked, or wearing clothes that I like, even if it’s going to be different from what everyone else is wearing.
Ultimately, I turned to myself when it came to decisions. When the opportunity felt right, I went for it. If the opportunity wasn’t there, I made it there.
I’ve learned this year to trust the process because it’s not about getting to the finish line, but the journey to it.
Twenty-two year old me walked so that I could run. She set me up for success, and for that I am thankful.
I am excited for what this new year will bring. I hope to learn more, create more, and build happiness.
See you in my next era.
With Danger & Grace,
— Girl Hazard
