I woke up this morning at 9:13. Well 8:00, then 8:30, then 8:45, then 9:00, then 9:13 because I couldn't waste another two minutes waiting for 9:15.
I went downstairs, grabbed some pineapple and a shot of espresso, and headed back up to my room where I sat face-glued to my computer until 1:10 (20 minutes before I had to leave for work).
I wrote for a solid four hours, then closed my laptop when my story looked confusing enough. Words I make up, paragraphs that have no point... that's usually how all of my entries start. I figured I'd come back after work, cut a few paragraphs, rework some things, and hit publish. Instead, I sat down, highlighted the whole thing, and pressed delete.
This time, I'll try and get to the point and say what's on my mind instead of telling a whole story that may feel so good to tell, but would completely miss the point.
Here's what I actually wanted to say…
You genuinely just have to know who you are.
You are never going to have control over the version of yourself that exists in someone else's mind.
People will draw their own conclusions.
They'll remember the same moment differently.
They will make assumptions.
If you spend your whole life trying to make everyone understand who you are,
you will start to lose sight of who you know yourself to be.

Girl Hazard
P.S. I freaking love having a blog.
